Mike Breen Apologizes After LeBron James Refutes Joel Embiid Practice Story

The veteran ESPN broadcaster expressed regret over the scrutiny his anecdote brought to the Philadelphia center.

Mike Breen offered an apology on Wednesday after LeBron James publicly refuted an anecdote the broadcaster recently relayed about Joel Embiid.

According to RealGM Wiretap, Breen explained to ESPN that he regretted the unwanted attention his remarks directed toward the Philadelphia 76ers center.

Breen maintained that the anecdote was never meant to portray Embiid negatively, but rather to highlight the veteran leadership James has brought to Philadelphia.

"I'm so disappointed how the story was interpreted," Breen told ESPN. "The whole intent was praising LeBron for already having an impact on the team's professionalism and accountability, even something so benign as a player getting on the court for practice a minute or two late."
