Ministry of Hoops

Editorial policy

Sourcing and attribution

Every article on Ministry of Hoops is based on reporting by another news outlet, and says so. The outlet is named in the article and linked in the "Reported by" box at the end of every piece. We do not claim reporting we did not do, and we write our own sentences rather than reproducing the original's.

How AI is used

Ministry of Hoops is produced with AI assistance, and we want to be plain about where:

  • Choosing stories. An automated editorial step scores incoming news using weights and rules our editors set, and selects the stories we cover.
  • Drafting. Each article is drafted by an AI model from the original report. The Spanish, Portuguese and Bulgarian versions are written separately for those readers from the same source material, not translated word for word from the English.
  • Constraints. The model is instructed to use only facts contained in the source material, never to invent quotes, statistics or dates, and to write a shorter article rather than pad a thin one.
  • People. Our editors choose the sources, set the rules and weights the system works to, and review what is published. Articles are published when a story is selected; there is no separate sign-off on each article before it appears. When something is wrong, we correct it openly.

Corrections

If a fact in an article is wrong, we correct the article and record the correction, with its date, on our corrections page. A corrected article shows an "Updated" date next to its publication date. To report an error, use the "Report an error" link at the end of any article, or email partnership@adsprintstudio.com.
