Adam Silver Says LeBron James Helicopter Commute Breaks No NBA Rules

The commissioner addressed the 76ers star living in New York, noting that a partnership with Fanatics covers the flights without team involvement.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver clarified Tuesday that LeBron James is not violating any league regulations by using a helicopter to commute from New York to Philadelphia.

James signed with the Philadelphia 76ers this past offseason but decided to maintain his residence in New York. Addressing the travel arrangement, Silver explained that the flights do not represent a circumvention of league guidelines because they are tied to an external commercial partnership.

According to the RealGM Wiretap, Silver pointed out that James holds an endorsement deal with Fanatics. The commissioner stated that it is completely appropriate for the company to provide helicopter transportation as long as the agreement is negotiated solely between James and Fanatics without any involvement from the 76ers.
