Ziaire Williams Eyes Major Lakers Role After Jonathan Kuminga Snub
The newly acquired forward believes he can secure a starting spot and help Los Angeles compete for a championship.
Ziaire Williams is preparing to seize a major opportunity with the Los Angeles Lakers after Jonathan Kuminga opted against joining the team.
The incoming forward remains confident in what the roster can achieve in the upcoming NBA season, even after missing out on the talented wing, according to a report by BasketNews.
When asked by Ryan Ward of On SI whether he expects to earn a starting position in Los Angeles following the Kuminga decision, Williams did not hesitate.
"Yeah, I do, and I mean that's the GM's job, right to put the best pieces together to try to win a championship," Williams said.
Williams believes the front office has assembled a group capable of contending, and he is determined to make the most of the expanded minutes and responsibility available on the wing.
