Zalgiris Ultras Step In to Pay Club's €30,000 EuroLeague Fine

The Green White Boys will cover the penalty issued after an inappropriate symbol was displayed on a banner against Olympiacos.

Zalgiris Kaunas supporters have stepped in to cover a hefty financial penalty handed down to their club by the EuroLeague, demonstrating a rare level of accountability and dedication to their team.

The Green White Boys, Zalgiris' primary ultras group, decided to pay the €30,000 fine levied against the Lithuanian side, according to a report by BasketNews via Delfi.

The disciplinary measure followed Zalgiris' home opener of the campaign against Olympiacos Piraeus. During the contest, a banner displayed by supporters featured an inappropriate symbol in one of its corners. Although a single fan was identified as accountable for the incident, the ultras collective opted to shield the club from the financial fallout by settling the entire €30,000 bill themselves.
