Luka Doncic Warns Against European Basketball Fragmentation

As discussions continue regarding the possible creation of an NBA Europe tournament, Luka Doncic cautioned against further dividing the continental basketball ecosystem.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, in comments reported by BasketNews, the Lakers star made it clear that establishing another rival tier alongside the EuroLeague and EuroCup would complicate matters for European basketball.

"There's EuroLeague, EuroCup and then NBA Europe," Doncic said. "It is going to be three leagues. That's kind of hard to work. There should be one league. That's how it works."

Doncic advocated for a single, consolidated competition rather than multiple parallel entities attempting to operate across Europe.
