The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived forward Cam Whitmore and intend to utilize the stretch provision on the remainder of his contract.
According to reporting from TalkBasket, the Cavaliers will spread the money left on Whitmore's deal across the next three seasons.
The 22-year-old forward was recently acquired from the Washington Wizards as part of a sign-and-trade centered on Peyton Watson. Cleveland was not expected to hold a roster spot for Whitmore following the move.
