Austin Reaves Joking About the Hardest Part of Playing With Luka Doncic

The Los Angeles Lakers guard admitted that deciphering his teammate's fast-paced multilingual communication is an unexpected on-court challenge.

Adjusting to a new superstar teammate brings unique hurdles, but for Austin Reaves, the trickiest part of sharing the floor with Luka Doncic has nothing to do with schemes or spacing.

Speaking on ESPN LA, as reported by BasketNews, Reaves offered a humorous look at his on-court chemistry with Doncic, revealing that language barriers can pop up quickly in the heat of a game.

"He gets to talking fast, speaking in Slovenian, Serbian. He speaks four languages," Reaves said with a smile. "Sometimes I'm looking at him and I'm like, 'English. Talk to me in English. I need English.'"

With Reaves and Doncic operating as central figures for the new-look Lakers, building a seamless connection remains a work in progress—even if it occasionally requires a mid-play reminder of which language to use.
