Victor Wembanyama Remains Only 2023 Draft Pick to Sign Extension
Slow negotiations across the league could lead to a massive 2027 restricted free agency class featuring Brandon Miller and the Thompson twins.
Victor Wembanyama stands in a tier of his own, remaining the sole member of the 2023 NBA Draft class to secure an early contract extension.
According to a report from TalkBasket, extension discussions across the rest of the draft class have moved at a sluggish pace. High lottery selections Brandon Miller, Amen Thompson, and Ausar Thompson were viewed as prominent candidates to work out new deals, but meaningful progress on those fronts has yet to materialize.
With talks largely on hold, the league is currently on track to see a substantial portion of the 2023 draft class head into restricted free agency in the summer of 2027.
