Karl-Anthony Towns linked to Bulls, Clippers amid Knicks contract questions
Chicago and Los Angeles could emerge as prime suitors if extension talks with New York falter, according to a league executive.
Karl-Anthony Towns' future with the New York Knicks is drawing early interest around the league, with rival organizations reportedly monitoring his situation should contract talks fall short.
According to an NBA executive cited by Stefan Bondy of the New York Post and relayed by BasketNews, the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers have emerged as the two teams with the most viable route to chase the star center if he reaches the open market.
The executive noted that very few franchises currently possess both the necessary salary-cap room and the on-court fit required to pursue Towns if he and the Knicks are unable to hammer out a fresh agreement.
