Dalton Knecht Signs Two-Way Deal With Knicks After Lakers Release
New York quickly adds the former first-round selection on a two-way contract after Los Angeles cut him ahead of the regular season.

The New York Knicks have pounced on Dalton Knecht, agreeing to sign the guard to a two-way contract shortly after he was cut by the Los Angeles Lakers, according to RealGM Wiretap.
The Lakers waived Knecht ahead of the regular season, marking a swift end to his stint in Los Angeles. Selected 17th overall out of Tennessee in the 2024 NBA draft, Knecht showed early promise during his rookie campaign before eventually slipping out of head coach JJ Redick's regular rotation.
His turbulent run with Los Angeles also included a near-exit at the 2025 trade deadline, where he was included in an agreement to acquire Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets before that deal was rescinded. Now, the rookie gets an immediate second chance in New York.
