Anthony Davis Asked Lakers for Center Help to Ease Load Against Jokic, Embiid
Bulking up to match elite interior rivals left the Los Angeles star feeling too heavy on the court.
Anthony Davis has revealed that he asked the Los Angeles Lakers to acquire another center after the physical demands of matching up with the league's most bruising big men took a toll.
According to Sportando, Davis explained that he added extra weight to handle the physical battles against Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid, but the added bulk left him feeling too heavy during play.
The physical toll of maintaining that size led Davis to request additional frontcourt depth from the Lakers to help shoulder the burden at the center position.
